What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Some of my main goals over the next 5 years would be to play university hockey and to keep playing even further as a pro. I want to see how far I can go with it, getting an education while doing something I love while setting me up for my future, whether that be going further and becoming a pro or using that education to help future employment.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I love playing the game of hockey and every time I step on the ice whether we’ve won or lost the night before it has always been fun for me. If I can get an education while doing something I love and enjoy, this might sound cliche, but, it would really be a dream come true.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
For me what separates myself from others is that my actions speak louder than my words do. I may not be the most vocal guy on the team but, the best feeling in the world to me is the roars from the bench when I level a guy or block a crucial shot or just rip a shot in. One thing I’ve worked on through the years and am still working on is having more confidence in myself. I continue to get better and gain confidence day by day by not overthinking a certain play or pass and to keep myself in the rhythm where things are just flowing good.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
They would expect your big man that’s reliable and tough in the defensive zone who isn’t afraid but can also skate and make passes and plays and has a heavy shot. One guy I try to model my game after is Chris Pronger and maybe a little bit of Dustin Byfuglien.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I want to be a role model and a person and player people look up to and respect.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
What I think separates the best players in the world is confidence, will, and determination.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
Probably like I said earlier hearing my bench go wild from something I did on the ice.
