What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My immediate goal is to help lead Warman to a successful year. I would like to continue to develop my leadershlp skills on and off the ice. I feel it is important to develop a skill that is important all my life. I hope to have the opportunity to continue with my hockey after Midget AAA. I am interested in scholarships for post secondary education and it is my wish be noticed by scouts and be invited and play on a higher-level team.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals as I worked all through my hockey career to play at a higher level. These goals will also provide me with valuable skills lo be successful in life. To achieve these goals would be pretty cool! As a kid I have always had high expectations of myself and my dream is to continue to play at a higher level of hockey.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me most of all is that l am always positive. On and off the ice, I make sure everyone feels welcome and part of the team. My coaches rely on me to encourage my teammates when things are going great and when we slump. I am often the go to guy for my teammates when they want or need things or are dealing with things.
One area the requires work is my offensive game. I have been working on jumping up in the play as well as taking advantage of my skating abilities. As a defence man, I would like to be able to control the play in both ends as much as possible. I have improved in this area as I have made this my focus in Midget AAA.
I continue to get better by staying focussed. When I am at practice I work hard and during games I ahvays try to improve. I live a clean lifestyle and stay away from negative distractions. I work out to gain speed and strength. I love watching a lot of hockey to see what I can do better in my game is important to me.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring leadership and a positive attitude for every team I have played for. I am committed to helping make the team the best we can be on the ice. in the dressing room, and in the community. lf l was selected by a coach to be on their roster, I would be a great asset in defensive play. I am a strong defensive minded player and rarely get beat. My plus minus is always very good and I am quick to learn systems and be a positive role model.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I am hoping that everyone I meet in my hockey career knows that I was a hard worker on and off the ice. I feel that I bring success to every team through being positive and the choices I make as a teammate. Every team I have played on, we have had fun and worked together. I enjoy being with people and like doing things in the community to promote sports
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
The best players in the world are those that have stayed focussed for a long period of time. The best players are alwaus trying to improve. They can skate fast and make quick plays. I believe they have a high hockey IQ. Their attitude on and off the ice will determine how well they are liked as players and people in the community. This affects the way a player performs each game.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite thing about the game is being with my teammates and having fun with the guys. I love to play! I enjoy practice and skating. Games are a highlight and I love going to rink early and getting ready for the game. I am excited to be on the ice and be part of the action. I am with my teammates 6 days a week but it doesn’t seem like it, as I enjoy every minute. I like being with the guys at hockey and then during free time as well. The players are my friends on all teams.
