What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My goals that I want to accomplish in hockey over the course of the next 5 years, are all very important to me. All of my goals follow the SMART goal plan ( specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely ). On ice over the next few seasons, I want continue to develop my technical part of my game. Reinforcing good habits during practice, watching game video, keeping myself accountable, and training consistently are all parts that will help greatly in furthering my technical skills. Improving my crease movement speed is also something that Im working to get better at. I can apply everything that’s helping me get better technique, will also help me get faster in the crease. Keeping good habits during practice and drills, being consistent, and accountable all will help me get faster over my next few years in the net.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
Both of These goals are very important to me, as I consider them my strengths in my game, and are extremely important to being a elite goaltender. The reason I want to expand my game in these ways is because I believe they are the most valuable skills as a goaltender. Being able to move well around the crease is essential, along with being in the right position, and knowing how to make the save.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
For every team i’ll ever play for, I will always bring my best forward, as a good teammate, and friend. Always having their back, pushing them to be better, keeping them accountable along with myself, and the consistency of being responsible and enthusiastic. Keeping myself consistent in every aspect is what i strive for. Off-ice mannerisms is also something I bring to the table, anyone can always expect me to be professional and respectful outside of the rink. Every practice, every day, and every game I will always give it my best, and never give up. my character is what I bring, my work ethic, paired with my skill.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
Template.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I want to make an impact, not just on my team, by giving them a chance to win every game, but rather everyone on my community who has helped along my way, with more to come. I want to be a role model, to people who aspire to be a goaltender, someone they can look up to, and even reach out too.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
Separating the good from the elite, is Work ethic, consistency giving you’re best effort even when times get tough, and when they get easy, separates hockey players. Along with Work ethic, execution also plays a big deal, being able to perform on the ice is what really defines an elite player. Applying myself to both of those is another large aspect of my game I want to be even better at. After everything that I want to accomplish, push and strive for, I can’t forget what I play the game and go in my net every day
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My love for the game is always the reason i’m at the rink, the rush from stepping on the Ice and into my net. The sense of excitement every day going to the rink knowing i’m going to have fun with my friends, and get better at doing what I love, is what I love about hockey
