What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My Main goals over the next few years include utiltizing my academic excellence to create opportunities in hockey as I continue to get bigger, faster, stronger, and grow as a person. I am going to continue to grow as a player so that I can play the highest level hockey that is available to me.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
My end goal as a player is to use hockey as an outlet to give me a good life so that I can provide for my family in the future as well as having fun while doing so
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
As a high-school athlete my schedule continues to be packed full of activity as I train and work on my game everyday to continue to work on what I feel I underperformed on the last game. As a player I want to work on my patience when entering the zone with the puck so I can let the play develop; I would also like to improve on my stride as the faster you can get the more you can be utilized in different situations. I make sure to include lots of drills for myself whether it is mental or physical to improve on these goals and I believe that I can transform my weaknesses and they can become my strengths
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
As a teammate, I believe that i can bring a competitive environment to any team no matter the level or circumstances. I make sure to take every practice as serious as a game so that I can improve the most during my time on the ice. A coach who would take me could expect to get a hard working goal scorer that can play on both sides of the ice, and is ready in any circumstance to step up for his team. I believe that I can bring comradery and can help pick up teammates when they are down.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
Looking in my career as a hockey player, I believe that I can make a positive impact in the community in whatever I am doing. I want to be able to go to school for free so that I can get a degree and have a job that I enjoy showing up to everyday.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
No matter the sport, I have seen with my own eyes that the one thing that truly separates someone from the pack is their passion and work ethic. This can be demonstrated by staying after practice to work on your game, working on your weaknesses at home and at the gym, and having a positive attitude while doing so.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing about hockey has to be the feeling of scoring a goal in a high pressure sitauation where everyone is depending on you.
