What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main goal over the next 5 years is to keep improving my game day by day to further advance to a greater level before ultimately reaching the collegiate level.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
mproving in anything has always been a core value to myself. In the context of hockey, getting better every day and continuing to progress is something that I can look forward to doing every day and it motivates me to work hard anytime I step on the ice or gym. I know that in order to improve you need to put in the work, and it’s become something that I not only look forward to doing but enjoy doing as well.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
My pure passion and positive attitude toward the game is what will separate me from the next player. Hockey has been my passion and obsession for as long as I can remember and it’s what I look forward to doing the most. Even through the many ups and downs of my career, the one thing that’s always remained constant is my pure love for the game. When I’m not playing hockey or training, I’m watching hockey at all levels to learn and grow my game from players at higher levels than I’m at. My positive attitude in all situations sets the tone for the locker rooms I’m a part of, and my teammates will understand that they’ll be a part of a supportive environment. With that being said, something that I continue to develop is the mental aspect of my game, and remaining confident despite any situation I find myself in. It’s something I try to better each day and know that it’s a work in progress.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
My pure passion and determination, paired with my positive energy is something that is valuable to every team that I’m a part of. The energy and passion I bring resonate with my determination to get better every day. In addition to being a determined and passionate individual, you’re getting an extremely selfless player. This means that no matter what my circumstance may be, you’re always getting a kid who’s showing up to the rink with an infectious positive attitude that prioritizes winning and team success.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I always want to bring a positive and winning attitude to help mold a locker room that is supportive and competitive as those are 2 things I think are extremely important in having a winning season. Away from the rink, I’m hoping to support a community by volunteering as much as possible and being able to help in any way I can.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I think a strong mental attitude and confidence are what separates the best players in the world. That strong mental attitude and being able to move on from mistakes and persevere past obstacles is what truly makes them the best at what they do. Their determination and passion for the game are evident and truly why they excel and separate themselves from others.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
On the ice, I love winning. I truly believe there is no better feeling in this world than winning with your teammates. Off the ice, the memories you create with your teammates on the road or amongst each other in the locker room are unmatched and one of the best parts about Junior hockey. It’s also a great feeling to be out in the community and meeting new people and doing new things. Just getting to try new things in a community is a pretty cool experience
