What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Within the next 5 years, I want to be successful playing Junior A in Canada, and I want to commit to a D1 university to pursue hockey and school. Another goal is to keep developing as a person and become the best version of myself.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
I want to achieve these goals, because playing NCAA D1 gives a really good chance at playing pro hockey, and that is my ultimate goal. Also, I would have a good chance to get a college degree that would allow me to get a good job after my hockey career. It would mean a lot to achieve that goal, because it would mean that all my hard work, during all these years, has finally paid off.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
My desire to win and to improve is what separates me from others. Whatever the situation is, I always work hard, and I always try to improve, on and off the ice. Some areas that I can get better at are getting stronger and playing more physical. Not always try to hit, but use my body when I need to. I try to eat more, work hard every workout, and take care of what I eat, that’s how I get stronger. Also, I will start gradually to use more my body to separate players from the puck, and soon enough, I will be comfortable to do it more.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring a high character personality that can positively influence others. Coaches should expect a positive leader, a smart and reliable puck moving defenseman. A player that takes pride in everything he does and that is good on special teams. A player that works hard during every practice and game and that is ready to sacrifice for his team and teammates.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I want to have a positive impact on everyone I play with, on every community I play in, and on my community at home. I want to do that by always being someone that people like to be around, proving myself has a hard worker, and doing work in which ever community I play in. I want to show to my friends, ancient coaches, teammates, and young hockey players that there is more than one way to be successful in hockey and to make it pro.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I think there is a few things that separate the best players in the world from others. Some of these things are hard work, desire to win, and unselfishness. I think it is really important to care about the team more than yourself. If you take care of the team, the team will take care of you. They are willing to do everything they can to help the team. And even if they are the best, they keep pushing on and off the ice to improve.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
The memories made, and the friendships made that’ll last for a long time. The feeling of winning a tournament or a championship is the best feeling ever. Also, the most fun I ever have is when I play hockey.
