What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
In the next five years I want to continue to play hockey at the highest level I can while maintaining a good education. I want to start at Jr A and work towards the college level.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I have always loved hockey to the extreme and I want to play as long as the game will let me. It has always been important to me to make it to the Jr A level and represent a community. These goals are important to me because I recognize that through hockey I can achieve a great education. It would mean a ton to achieve these goals as they are goals I’ve been working on my whole life.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
A few things that separate me most as a player is my ability to read the ice and always be the smartest player. I also work incredibly hard and give the same effort on every shift. As a person I am thoughtful and considerate to others and I work really well with others in any situation. I am always working to improve my skills and get better.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I am a smart hardworking hockey player, who will excel in any role given to me. I know how to make plays in the offensive zone and I know how to shut down plays in the defensive zone. I am a coachable player who will always listen and is always trying to improve. A coach can expect me to utilize my speed and physicality on both sides of the rink.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I recognize that kids around the rink are always looking up to the older players, I want to gain a reputation as a good player and a great role model for these kids. Also I will do my best to continue to be a positive role model for my younger siblings. Part of being a Jr hockey player is being a good community member, I look forward to that role.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I believe that the best players in the world also have the most dedication and pay the most attention to the details of the game. The best players in the world skate well, play smart, and enjoy what they are doing to the maximum degree.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite thing about the game of hockey is the connections that it brings throughout. Whether it be coaches or best friends and teammates. I love how hockey unites people.
