What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Over the next 5 years my main goals are to make it to the junior A level and make a big enough impact at that level to move on to play Division 1 hockey at the NCAA level. I plan to take my academics very seriously and get a degree during college so I can have a good future set up for me later down the road.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I think this is a realistic path for myself and I believe they are important because this is what I’ve always wanted to do with hockey. To achieve these goals would be like a dream come true especially if I am able to graduate from college with a degree while also having played top level hockey and it would open a lot of doors for my future.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
The biggest things that separate me as a player and person from the rest would be my attitude and character on and off the ice. I value how my teammates and coaches view me so attitude and character is something I always focus on. I think my biggest area of work would be leadership, in order to keep improving on this I need to keep getting out of my comfort zone and making sure I have the respect of all my teammates.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
For every team that I play for I always bring along hard work and pure dedication on the ice as well as a likable and good teammate on the ice. A coach should expect a player that comes to every game and practice with the determination to get better, a player that is easily teachable and, and just an overall good kid.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
Of course everyone’s goal is to win at the end of the day. For me I also want to be able to make an impact in my community throughout my career whether that is through giving back, volunteering, etc. Secondly I want to make an impact in my teammates lives, I want to be remembered as a good teammate and someone that was well liked.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I think what separates the best players in the world from everyone else is the little details, every player can do the simple drills and look good but what matters is the little details they put in to make themselves better especially when no one’s watching that’s what elevates them beyond the rest. My favorite thing about the games
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite things about the game would have to be playing on a team. It’s just so rewarding being able to share the same goal with a group of guys who are all in the same situation as you. Win or lose the bond that you make with them is something you would never get anywhere else.
