What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
I want to earn a scholarship that allows me to gain a strong education and make long lasting relationships through playing the game that I love.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
Being able to gain a scholarship through a sport is a huge accomplishment and challenge, and for me to say that I have done it would prove that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me as a player and a person is my work ethic and determination to become the best goalie I can. I feel my skating can always use work to allow me to keep up with the pace of the game. I always push myself to practice as how I would play in a game. This gives me a competitive edge in practice forcing myself to move, react and recover faster.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring a positive, hardworking, committed, coachable and competitive mindset. Day in and day out I always strive to better myself and my teammates by putting in the work at practice and in the gym, being on time for all team events and most importantly being supportive for my teammates. A coach can expect a goaltender that never quits, no matter the circumstances or score.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I hope to leave a strong impact on my community for young goaltenders to look up to and show that their dreams can come true. Someday when my playing career is over I hope to have the opportunity to give back and coach the youth within my hometown.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
What makes professional hockey players the best of the best is the attention to detail they have on place along with their consistent habits and work ethic during practice. Their ability to not take shortcuts or do things the easy way is the reason why they are among the elite players in the world.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite part about the game is the constant need to get better everyday and that there is alway an area to improve within my game. I always strive to get 1% better each day.
