What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My goal is to transition to playing Junior hockey in the BCHL and then commiting to play divison 1 hockey. While working hard towards having sucess and playing an important role and making sure I gain my coaches and teamates trust on defence and offence.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These goals are important to me because hockey is my passion and playing at a high level while having lots of sucess has always been my dream. While working hard to make my dreams come true is making sure I get an education so I can get a great stable job when my hockey career has come to an end.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What seperates me as a player is my mature and coachable attuide. I am always trying to improve on and off the ice weather it is in the gym or school. I always try to figure out what my weaknesses are and just work hard at them, i know there is always going to be something to improve and target weather it is on or off the ice.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
The things I can bring to the table are great offensive abilities I am able to run a powerplay and make sure the team gets a goal on the board when they need it the most. I will always bring great intensity durning games and practices trying to make sure that I can earn and solidify my role on the team.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
The impact I am trying to have is to make it to the NHL and have a positive impact on everyone weather that is friends, family or fans. I want to be a great role model trying to inspire kids that want to make it to the higer level. Most importantly I want my sports career to lead me to becoming a better person on and off the ice.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I think what separates the best players in the world is the dedication and hard work and always trying to be the best version of themselves. The athletes that are the best at what they do always take everything seriously for example if that is practices, games, recovery, school etc… they take everything seriously. Another thing that separates them is the mental side of the game they are confident everytime they step on the ice and they forget every mistake instantly.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite thing about the game is the adversity and pushing through whatever challenges come my way. Some other things I really enjoy are the competitiveness and playing with players that older and better becasue it always pushes me to work harder and become better. I also enjoy meeting new peope and becoming friends with them and getting pushed out of my comfort zone.
