What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Some of my main goals for the next five years include becoming a more offensive weapon on the ice by improving my skating, awareness, and shot. This year, I aim to get drafted in the U18 OHL draft and hopefully secure a spot on the team within a year to enhance my hockey development. Additionally, I want to graduate high school with my OSSD and maintain an average in the high 80s or better. If the OHL doesn’t work out, I plan to pursue a future as an academic athlete, which I will set a path toward the NCAA.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
I have set these goals because I believe they are the best way to succeed, and will keep me motivated to keep working everyday. They are important to me because I recognize that hockey is a competitive sport, and having backup options is essential. Education has always been important, and keeping that path open will provide me with many positive opportunities for the future. By working hard, staying focused, and practicing discipline, I can achieve my goals. Staying on task and putting in the effort will show the best results for my future.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What sets me apart is my role as a teammate. I always prioritize others when it’s appropriate, which is reflected in my positive nature. I enjoy getting along with each of my teammates and believe that having fun is important, even while we’re working hard. Additionally, I am passionate about my work ethic and give my all, regardless of the goal. I’m continually focused on refining the details of my game, practicing diligently to improve every aspect.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
A key quality I bring to the table is my consistency. Coaches can count on how I will play and conduct myself every time I’m at the rink. I give my all each day, working hard while maintaining a positive and encouraging attitude as a teammate.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I strive to have a positive impact wherever I am. I want my actions to reflect my commitment to my team’s success. I aim to be there for others, ensuring they know they can rely on me. My hope is to inspire everyone around me to be and feel their best.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
What separates the best players in the world is their mindset. A player’s mindset reflects their game. Each pro has a unique approach to what they want to achieve and how they plan to do it.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
I love how hockey enriches my life. It provides me with purpose, motivation, and a healthy mindset. It finally gives me people to be with, creating relationships with memories and good times.
