What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Within the next five years, I would like to improve my offensive production. I know I can be a strong defensive forward and be reliable on the penalty kill, however being able contribute to my team’s success offensively at a more constant rate would make me a much more complete hockey player. That being said, I see myself playing at the university/college level in five years.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
I understand that college hockey is a major step up as guys get stronger, faster and smarter. It is crucial to have an impact on all aspects of the game to be able to perform at that level. Being able to have an impact on the game wherever I play is extremely important to me.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I have a desire to get better and to achieve the goals I have set for myself. I will not take no for an answer and will never stop trying to improve. My offensive consistency is an area I have to work on. By having the right mindset and by working hard I believe I will improve this aspect of my game.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
Relentless and consistent effort during practices, workouts and games. Energy and enthusiasm to play the game. I also bring a consistent and reliable support on the defensive side of the puck. Those are attributes that I have always had and that will only improve.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I want to play the highest level of hockey possible while continuing my academic progress with success. It is important for me to be remembered as a dedicated teammate on and off the ice by any team I play for.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
The consistent hard work and dedication is what separates a good player from a great player. The passion and mindset they have facing every challenge in the game is also makes them the best in the world.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
The competitive nature of hockey is what I like the most. As a multi-sport athlete, I noticed that hockey requires players that want to be successful consistently. Hockey also requires unique teamwork and comradery. I like that groups that are bought in for the same goals are going to be the most successful teams.
