What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
I want to make a junior A team for the 23/24 season and become a better player and person. Over the next three years of junior hockey I want to get stronger off the ice and on the ice and become a top player on a junior A team. Before my junior career is over, I want to get a scholarship and commit to a division, one or three NCAA team.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I’ve dreamed of playing junior hockey since I was a little kid and I believe that I am going to be able to achieve these goals in my future. These goals are important to me because it keeps me focussed on doing good in school and working hard in games and at practice so I’m able to achieve these goals in my future. It would mean a lot to achieve these goals, and it would be nice to look back and be proud of myself for staying committed to my goals.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I think I am separate from others through my work ethic and hockey IQ. And I believe what separates me as a person is that I usually do the right thing when nobody’s watching or doing things just to get noticed. Areas that I need to work on over the summer are my foot speed, strength, and shot. I continue to get better by coming to the rink, focused and ready to work.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
What I bring to a team is an individual who leads by example and can be counted on to make the simple and right decisions on the ice when needed. A coach can expect a hard-working, focused, willing to put it all on the line committed player that will compete everyday.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I’m hoping to gain great connections and friendships through my hockey career and win a national championship with a junior, a team or NCAA team.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I believe what separates the best players in the world from others is their attention to details, work ethic, and ability to adapt to tough situations. And there overall obsession with the game and the ability to sacrifice and be disciplined to become the player they want to be.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
I’d say my favourite thing about hockey is the friendships that come along with it and the feeling of succeeding under pressure and coming out with a win when in a close playoff game.
