What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Over the next 5 years my personal goal is to play Junior A hockey in Alberta or BC and then play and attend NCAA Division 1 College. My first personal goal revolves around my love for the game of hockey and want to continue growing in every aspect of the game as I move into higher levels of hockey. My second personal goal is to maintain a strong academic average throughout high school and obtain a College Business degree.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
Obtaining a business degree will allow me to provide a good stepping stone into the world of business and even possibly a hockey/sport business related career. My current activities are geared towards both hockey and academics.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I feel that my Hockey IQ and knowledge of hockey (student of the game) and positive attitude is what separates me from the ordinary player. I have a personal plan over the next 12 months to become bigger and stronger through my off ice development program. This will help me develop further as a player and put my high skill to create more opportunities for myself on the ice.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
When competing for a roster spot on prior and future teams, I think most importantly what I bring to a team is the ability to work hard, high work ethic, dedication for continual improvement, positive attitude, as well as my strong character. A coach can expect a high offensive and playmaker skill set as well as solid defensive and positional play.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I want to show up everyday and focus on developing into becoming a better person and player.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I believe that world class athletes have tremendous character, drive, ability to work with teammates, and dedication to their sport.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing about “Hockey” has to be the pure enjoyment I have towards being on the ice, practicing, playing the game, not to mention the camaraderie with my teammates, trainers, and coaches.
