What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main hockey goals for the next 5 years are to be able to be a student athlete at the NCAA D1, or USPORTS level, and then eventually move on and try and play hockey professionally.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These goals are important to me as playing college or university hockey allows me to continue to play the game at a high level while still being able to receive an education. It would mean a great deal to me to be able to achieve these goals as hockey has been a passion of mine ever since I can remember.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me as a player and a person is my habits on and off the ice, my work ethic, and my drive to want to do everything that I do correctly and to the best of my ability. I am continuing to improve all aspects of my game. Being able to enjoy the process and trying to win every day is what allows me to continue getting better each day.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring to the table a hardworking, good teammate, and a goalie with strong work habits to any team I am on. Coaches can expect from me a goalie with the ability to provide a sense of confidence and calmness to my team, a lead by example style of leader, and also a good guy to have in the locker room.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
During my sports career I look to be able to make an impact on any team I am on which will hopefully lead to winning championships throughout my career. I also would like to be able to give back to any community I am in, especially my hometown Fort McMurray which has given me lots throughout my hockey journey.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I believe a strong work ethic, high hockey IQ, and also a strong mental game is what separates the best players in the world. These three attributes are what I feel make the best players in the world the best at their craft.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite parts of hockey are being able to go to work everyday and get better with your teammates, while creating friendships and memories you will have forever.
