What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main goals in hockey are to play Junior Hockey and earn an athletic scholarship through hockey to a college or University. My ultimate goal is to play professional hockey at the highest level possible.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
Junior Hockey is what I have been working towards my entire hockey career. I love hockey and want to be the best player I can be. Achieving this goal would allow me to extend my career in hockey and allow me to challenge myself and reach my ultimate dream of playing professionally. Academics are also incredibly important to me and my future goals, so any opportunity to further my education while playing the game that I love would be amazing.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I think and see the game well. I have a strong work ethic that exceeds that of my peers. I want to get better every chance I get. Every time I step in the gym, step on the ice, or watch game film, it is an opportunity to improve. I think what also separates me is my constant ‘team-first’ mentality. Some areas I could improve upon are my defensive zone coverage and finishing my checks. I continue to get better by focusing on the small details at practice and making those aspects of my game more than just an area of improvement, but a habit.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
To any team, I bring consistent point production and proven coachability. I always put the team first. Any coach can expect me to be the hardest worker at every practice and I am a coachable player that can fill any role.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
Good players practice until they get it right, but great players practice until they can’t get it wrong. Great players are defined by their leadership abilities, their ability to think the game at an elite level, their play-making ability, and their work ethic.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
The relationships I build with teammates.
