What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main goals within the next 5 years are to play hockey at the highest level I can and improve my skills. Eventually playing high junior or NCAA. I would like to play at a level that helps me to get some of my school paid for. I am trying to improve my skills on the ice and get better so that eventually these dreams come true. I also am working hard at school which I hope will help accomplish these goals as well.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because hockey is my passion and playing at a high level has always been my dream since I was little. I also know that playing high-level hockey will help me get an education so that in the future I can get a good stable job when hockey ends.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me as a player and a person is my understanding of the ice and off the ice. I am always looking to improve my game and I know there is always room for improvement. I work very hard at school and I believe I’m a great leader on the ice as well as in my personal life. I always try and make the right choices and I feel teammates and friends look up to me.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
Any team that I play for always gets 100 percent from me. Every time I get on the ice I bring my positive attitude and competitiveness. I am a great leader and friend to my teammates and I have great sportsmanship not only for my team but the other team. A coach can always count on me to put the puck in the net or be on the ice in stressful situations.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
The impact I would like is to be someone everyone looks up to whether it’s teammates, friends, coaches, or fans. I want to play at a high level and be a player that people can talk positively about. I want my sports career to lead me to a good education and make me a better person on and off the ice.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I really think what separates the best players in the world is how much they want it and what little things they will do to make it happen. Everyone always has room for improvement and whether they practice it or not makes a big difference. It could be their physical game even their mental game, but everyone has room to improve. I also think you need to be a good leader and a good person in general.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing about the game is meeting new friends, getting pushed to my max or out of my comfort zone, playing against better players, and being part of a team. I love the game of hockey and how competitive it is and the feeling you get before a game, or in some instances after a game.
