What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main goals within the game over the next 5 years would be to have a solid year in my 20 yecr old year, 25 goals, PPG. Set my self up to get a scholarship weather that be U Sports or NCAA. Then from there the goal would be to earn a pro tryout of some sort.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I love hockey. I believe I have a career to pursue in hockey and I am going to put in all the work to be able to get there. For me to have achieved these goals I would feel accomplished, and satisfied, I will be emotional, and I would be hungry for more.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I think what separates me as a person and player is my work ethic and my honesty. I am a humble person who I think is a great dressing room guy. I can bring people together or get people to believe. As a player I’m a 200 ft player who gives a honest hard working effort every time I am on the ice. I think I can get better with my shot and hands. I get better by being in the gym, putting work in on the ice practicing how I play.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring leadership, honesty, character and trust to a team. I think coaches can expect all these qualities and will be able to see or it on a daily basis. My work ethic and leadership and personality I think helps the teams I’ve been on to be successful.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
The impact I want to have in my Sports career is to obviously have success reaching both team and personal goals. However I want to be the best role model. I want kids to look up to me like I looked up to guys, wanted their signature and wanted to play like them. I want to be remembered for how I carried myself, and how I gave it every thing I had every time.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I think the attributes and intangibles that separate the McDavid’s, MacKinnon’s, Makar’s, Crosby’s and Gretzky’s is that they for one are all leaders, their team trusts them, they are counted on in all situation and they are poised under pressure. But also they all have worked so hard for their skills their speed/shot/IQ is just at another level and that they have the confidence to play at the highest level, and the know they have the tools to perform.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing about the game is a lot of things. I love the dressing room, hanging out with the guys, meeting new people, coming to the rink everyday with people who share the same passion. I love the consistent practice to always get better. I love the competitiveness and the daily competition. And who doesn’t love skating out to a full arena and getting dialled in for a game.
