What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Some of my main goals over the next 5 years would be to play junior hockey in Canada go to school for post-secondary and to play college hockey at the division 1 level.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
My goal in hockey ever since I started playing was to play junior hockey and Division 1 hockey. This is because I was also very interested in school at a young age and I found that playing college hockey allowed me to pursue both of my passions playing hockey and getting an education at the same time. These goals are important to me because all the hours of hard work I have put into the sport will have paid off. Achieving these goals would mean a lot to me because I will get to experience my dream of playing hockey at one of the highest levels and I will be able to get an education at the same time.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I think What separates me as a player and a person is my focus when it’s something I like to do and want to learn about. I’m always more engaged than if it were something I’m not as familiar with. I think my biggest thing is to try to focus on all the little details in all aspects whether it’s hockey or school and it’s always something I’m trying to work on getting better.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
As a player, I bring a full 200-foot game. I am able to play all three zones on the ice effectively. I am a smooth skater with a high hockey IQ and I can consistently make the right play. A coach would expect an all-around solid player and an ever-better leader in the room who is a great role model for all his teammates.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I would like to be known as a good hockey player but more notably a great person who is well-liked by his peers and community and would do anything to see his teammates succeed.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I think what separates the best players in the world from the rest is their will to consistently get better and their will to do whatever it takes to be the best version of themselves they can be. Also their all-around work ethic and love for the game they do everything no matter what it is to the best of their abilities at all times.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing is the people you meet along the way and the bonds you build with them from teammates to coaches and the friendships that you build with those individuals.
