What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
I would like to play a few years of hockey in a tier 2 league in Canada and then move onto college hockey and pursue an education while doing my athletics.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
I have always wanted to play college hockey and to do it while getting an education would be fantastic. Education has always been a priority in my family and I have always tried to achieve good grades as well as be the best hockey player I can be. It would be a life long dream for me to move onto college hockey, I have always wanted to play hockey since I was a little kid growing up in Calgary.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I am a very strong skater and pride myself on a good first pass. I always give my best effort on the ice for my coach and teammates. What are some areas requiring work? I need continue to work on my d-zone and become a more effective defenceman in this area of the ice. I watch my game video and use in-stat to help me identify areas for improvement. I always set game goals for myself and usually try to have 2-4 things each game I want to try and accomplish.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
You will always get my best effort every shift, I still make mistakes but I will always battle for my teammates and coaches. A respectable player and a player that has strong ethics and will continue to improve. I put in so much time to improve my game and will continue to do this for every team I play for. Lastly a player that will fight to the last second of every game.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I would love to be part of a team that is active in the community through giving time to organizations. I’d love to win a junior or college championship and if I can play pro hockey somewhere down the road.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
Skill of course, strong work ethic and a desire to be the best. I have the desire to be the best and invest so much time into improving myself on and off the ice
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
On ice I love being part of a team and battling with them every game. Off ice I love the road trips, hanging with my teammates is always a fun time and I look forward to every road trip.
