What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main goals are to play university hockey for 4 years and to play pro hockey in Europe afterwards, as I am a dual Italian-Canadian citizen. I want to continue to play the sport I love while simultaneously to play the sport I love while simultaneously learning and obtaining a degree.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
My dream to play in Europe stems from my Italian heritage. I travel to Italy often and perhaps one day would like to live there.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
As a person I am very outgoing, humble yet confident person. I’m very social and love to spend time with my friends and family. As a player I’m well liked by my teammates and coaches. I’m coachable and looked upon as a leader. Sometimes my emotions get the best of me and I can be too hard on myself, but I also look at that as a positive as it pushes me to get better. I give it my all in the gym and at practice to get better and stronger. I also do journaling, manifesting and visualization as part of my mental work.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring positivity, energy and fun to the team. I consider myself a leader and have been told by all of my past coaches that I am looked up to. I am competitive, fiery, fast and can be trusted on both ends of the ice and in tight games.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
The impact I’m hoping to create in my career is to be remembered as a tenacious, goal scoring, fast player and a fan favourite. I also want to play at the highest level I can to be a role model in the indigenous community.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
To me the best players in the world are standouts because of their drive and work ethic. They continue to train and work on the small details to continue to stay on top. They also do this mentally and have an internal drive that keeps them going. They are all confident and self driven.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite part of the game is the friendships and memories i’ve made. Scoring goals and the sound of fans cheering is the best feeling. Celebrating with the team in the locker room, the road trips and the adrenaline makes love the game more and more.
