What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
First goal would be to eventually play in the WHL, but if that does not happen play junior in the SJHL, then maybe after, play D1 hockey.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I love hockey and want to pursue it. Hockey is something I look forward to everyday so to go far in my career is important for me. I would have to put in the work everyday, stay focused on and off the ice to achieve my goals.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
Instead of most people, I feel like I look to pass before I shoot. This makes me feel less selfish than most people I have played with. My shot definitely needs some work, but I am working on it. I continue to get better by going to the gym everyday and shooting pucks everyday.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I feel I play my role pretty well. That means getting the puck out, killing penalties or making plays in the offensive zone. A coach expects 110% hardwork and I feel like I bring that to the table. Also I am very respectful to my coaches and teammates. I try to pump everyone up and keep the dressing room light and fun. I try to keep everyone’s heads in the game, especially when the game is close and people are feeling the pressure.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
Play to my full potential, go far in playoffs and to be a great teammate. I’d love to make a career out of hockey and do it for as long as possible.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
Working harder than everybody else every day, staying focused, going to the gym, and working on the little things. Taking every moment seriously, for example, practice like I’m playing a game.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing about hockey is that I get to meet a whole bunch of new people and overall have fun playing the game I love. I also like to win!
