What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
I want to continue to improve all aspects of my game and work towards playing professional hockey after my university career.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
The reason I chose to play Junior A hockey was to give myself an opportunity to play hockey and attain a university degree while doing so. Once I have graduated from university, I hope to either move on in my field of study or pursue my dream of making it to the NHL.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
I feel like my dedication to the game on and off the ice and towards my studies separate me as both a player and a person. Within hockey I am always trying to get better in all aspects of the game and one of the areas I am working on these days is continuing to try to make my shot even harder than it is now. I will continue to get better by showing the dedication that I put into all aspects of life.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring leadership, accountability, and a work ethic second to none to every team that I play for. Any coach will quickly see how dedicated I am to my craft and will know that I am going to do everything that I possibly can to help the team succeed.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I always want to bring a winning attitude to anything that I do and will try to lead my teammates and members in the community by example. Of course I want to have to have team success but I also hope to help members of my community by volunteering my time to help those in need in anyway possible.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I believe a strong work ethic and a never say never attitude truly separates the best players of any sport. Those attributes/intangibles that define them are things like determination, empathy and support towards others, and perseverance.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite things about the game of hockey are being able to bond with all the players on and off the ice to create a winning culture. Off the ice my favourite things are meeting people outside team, volunteering in the community and getting to know the people that support me and our team.
