What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
To transition to playing junior hockey as a starting goaltender, have success there and propel myself to the next level. I want to gain the reputation as a goalie that my teammates and coaches can count on to perform in the biggest moments.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
To further my hockey career and improve my playing, all the while getting good education.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
My work ethic, discipline, and dedication to the game is what sets me apart. Something that I could improve is consistently not procrastinating, and getting things done more efficiently, whether that is homework or health improvement activities. How I consistently get better is by having the “1% better a day” mindset and by adding new things to my routines or learning about new concepts relating to hockey/goaltending.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring friendly and positive energy and reliability. A coach would expect someone who can make saves when the team needs it and someone who can change a game’s process and outcome regularly.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I will have to think about this, really figure out the impact I want to make and commit to making that impact.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
They always keep one eye on the journey and know that hard, and dirty work will pay off eventually. Also having a never give up attitude. If they were cut from teams then dealing with that adversity and persevering.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
I enjoy learning to develop a good work ethic and discipline. And one of my favorite parts is the competition of the game.
