What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Reach a PPG in the SJHL this upcoming season and win a championship. I want to play NCAA division 1 Hockey or Usports.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These goals are very important to me, I’ve had the same goals for quite some time and this season is the season where I can knock some off and get closer to the big one. I feel that I am now at a point where these are attainable. These goals are realistic, simple and easy to work towards. I’ve worked every day to get closer to my goals, I’ve sacrificed a lot and am willing to do anything to make them happen; it will mean the world when I finally accomplish them.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me on the ice from other players is my speed and ability to make plays at my speed, as well as my grit and work ethic. My dedication and motivation towards the game is my strongest attribute, and something I always lean on when adversity strikes, which is something that not every player has. As a person, what I find that separates me from other people is my discipline and altruism. I’m always looking to cheer someone up and am aware of how what you say and do to people affect them. The biggest hockey-related thing I need to work on is my hands. I find my hands often can’t keep up with my feet and are at a lower level than my competition and teammates.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
What I bring to a team is a lot of energy and positivity in the room and on the ice. I push my teammates everyday to be better. My work ethic and competitiveness rubs off on my teammates and makes them be a better player. I bring speed, offense, maturity and grit to any lineup I’m put in regardless of the line or the position.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I want to be able to help win a championship for any team I play for because championships along with how you treat people is what lasts in organizations and communities. I want to leave an impact and everlasting impression on my teammates and staff as the guy who always worked the hardest no matter what, and was always a good teammate and positive influence in the dressing room and community.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
What I believe separates the great players from good players is their obsession with the game and what they are willing to do to win and be the best. Competitiveness, humility and absolutely hating to lose are all big attributes that all great athletes have in common.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite part about the game is the competitiveness within the sport, how hard it is to win and the relationships you make within the game.
