What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My man goals are definitely be to play the highest level of hockey. I am possibly able to play of course. But in the next year I’d love to play for a U18 team or AAA team. And keep moving forward and play junior somewhere. I want keep achieving my goals of playing at the highest level and eventually receive a scholarship to play college hockey.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
Well, these are my goals because I love the game of hockey. I love playing it and I’m a very competitive person. They are very important to me because I don’t always want to prove to others what I can do. I always want to prove to myself my abilities so that I can show myself the true potential I can achieve. It would mean the world to me because not only would it be great for me, but my parents have made a lot of sacrifices for me to play hockey and pursue my dreams. I would love it if I could make them proud.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me as a player is definitely my work ethic. I believe that I’ll never quit and always put 100% effort in to achieve what the coaches or what I would like to achieve and as a person I believe I’m kind hearted and put others first. Some areas that are requiring work are definitely my communication skills. I don’t always love talking on the bench and to teammates because I like to stay focussed and dialled in but I have to work on that because it doesn’t help the team if I don’t talk.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
They expect me to put in 100% of my effort at all times that is what I could bring to team I could bring this team, character and leadership. I would not quit in my teammates and help bring them up not bring them down I’d strive to be a leader on the team, and always put in an effort.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
The impact I’m hoping to make is obviously to make lifelong friends and be the best person I’m able to be. To inspire maybe the younger kids not to just play the game because they’re forced to but to play the game because they love the game. Just have a positive impact on the community and not a negative one and be a good character not a character that is full of himself.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
What separates the great players from the good players is definitely their worth ethic. It’s the work ethic you put in off the ice. The transfers on the ice. Is the players that actually want to be there and not just for the money or for the fame.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
Definitely my favourite thing on the ice is the players that I get to be around. I get to make new friends all the time and real friends people that have the same interest as me and put the same work again not just playground friends. I’m also very competitive, so I love the grid in the game. I love the emotion and the character and the want to actually be there.
