What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
I would like to round out my game. Have more confidence in all areas of my game and have the confidence to carry the puck in and be a great playmaker. Continue to be a physical power forward. I would like to make a AAA team before I’m out of minor hockey. I also would like to play junior hockey or WHL.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
I know once I have the confidence my game will improve overall. These goals would help me develop overall as a player. These are important because I would like to improve my game. I want to go somewhere for hockey. I feel that these are stepping stones to develop every aspect of my game. I feel these goals are attainable. There is always room for improvement. These goals will let other teammates and kids have someone to look up to. To be a positive role model. Especially kids from my home First Nation/ community. They will see that hard work and dedication can pay off.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me as a player is my size and strength. I play a physical game. I have the determination to improve my game. I am competitive and that gives me the drive to be the best I can be. I feel that I am a hard worker and am relentless on the forecheck and backcheck. I Not only put effort on the ice but put as much effort off the ice as well. I would like to work on my puck control. As a player, I also want to work on my patience when entering the zone with the puck so I can let the play develop. I would also like to improve on my stride, as the faster, I can get the more I can be utilized in different situations. I also would like to work is building my confidence. Building up my mindset to be even more positive. I continue to get better by working hard on and off the ice.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring a big physical presence, hard work and dedication. Always willing to learn and improve my game. am a good team player, not selfish, and enjoy supporting everyone each and every game. I bring physicality to every team and good defensive zone play. I come yo practices and games and give it 110%.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
For any success or recognition I get, I want to make sure I am a good role model for younger kids. I want to set good examples for my peers and youth. I always want to work hard and help contribute to the success of the team.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
A strong work ethic, mentally strong, physically strong, a strong desire to succeed, and a love of the sport.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
Hanging out with my teammates. I love the adrenaline rush before the game.
