What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
My main goals within the next few years are to end my junior career with no regrets. Get committed to the collegiate level, play hockey at the collegiate level, and get an education while I am playing.
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because ever since I was little I have wanted to experience being a collegiate student athlete. They are important to me because they are what I have been striving for all throughout my career. It would mean everything to me to achieve my goals because it would mean that all my work and perseverance paid off.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
My determination, hockey IQ, and execution of details separates me as a player and person. I never give up on a play and I’m never content in myself as I always want to improve myself. I pride myself in knowing where my teammates are at all times and in creating chances. Finally, I can take details whether it be for a drill in practice or during a game and understand and execute them. Areas that I need to work on is my mental strength and physical strength. I need to continue to be honest with myself but I need to not be so hard and negative on myself. I need to improve on expecting excellence from myself and not perfection. As anyone I need to become more physically strong as it will help improve my game. I continue to put in the work to improve these areas. Visualisation and self talk are helping improve my mental strength and never missing a workout and always pushing myself to my limits improves my physical strength.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
I bring an upbeat, selfless, determined playing style to the room and ice no matter what team. They could expect a player and person that would do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I am looking to have a positive impact in my sports career where if someone hears my name they automatically think of not just my on ice play but how I have impacted the community around me.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
The determination to improve and be the best is what separates the best players in the world. Confidence, perseverance, and honesty are attributes/intangibles that the best players in the world possess. They are confident in themselves in all situations. They persevere through adversity and get back to being successful. Finally, the best players are honest with themselves about what they need to improve and when they are responsible for a mistake.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favourite part of the game is being a part of a team. Gaining comratory and trust with my teammates is what makes hockey fun!
