What are some of your main goals within the game over the next 5 years?
Some of my main goals within the game within the next 5 years is to become a better goaltender in every aspect. I also want to be playing for a WHL team or a NCAA team. I would also like to win a championship with a team I play with and to get an athletic scholarship, or academic scholarship, and to make it to the NHL
Why are these your goals? Why are they important to you? What would it mean to achieve them?
These are my goals because I want to live a good life and want to do the thing I love most which is play hockey. I also want to be able to get a good job after I retire from hockey. It would mean that I worked hard enough to achieve my goal and didn’t give up no matter how hard it got. I’m also one step closer to the NHL.
What separates you as a player and person? What are some areas requiring work? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me from other people is how hard I work. I will work as hard as my body lets me, and then push even more. Another thing that separates me is how competitive I am. I will do whatever it takes to win. I treat everybody with respect, It doesn’t matter who you played with or who you played for, or where your from. What separates me as a player is how fast and agile, I am on skates and my work ethic on and off the ice. I continue to get better by listening to feedback and implementing it in my game immediately.
What do you bring to any team you play for? What could a coach expect from you if they selected you for their roster?
To any team I go to I will bring a positive attitude, all of my effort and hard work, and a good teammate anyone can rely on. A coach can expect me to always work the hardest on and off the ice. They can also expect a positive and happy teammate, someone who never gives up and is the hardest working on the ice.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
The impact I am looking to make in my career is to show others that is doesn’t matter who you are, where your from that if you want it bad enough, and you work hard enough you can achieve your goals. I would also like to be a role model. A role model future goal tenders can model their game after.
What do you believe separates the best players in the world? What attributes/intangibles define them?
I believe what separates the best players in the world is their work ethic and their drive to become the best. No matter what the challenge is they will do whatever it take to accomplish it. Dedication, sacrifice, discipline.
Favorite thing about the game (on or off ice)?
My favorite thing about the game is the pressure and winning. I love winning in overtime, or in a shoot out, or regular season games. Its my favorite part about the game. I would rather play hockey than anything else. It gets my adrenaline pumping, and makes me happy.
